Little Birdie Free Crochet Pattern

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.

YARN: Light (3) in Pink, Gray, Yellow; Classic Cotton Thread in Black

MATERIALS: C2 – 2.75 mm Hook; Poly Filling; Yarn Needle

DIMENSION: 3” x 2.5” (bird) / 4” diameter (ring)

ABBREVIATIONS: stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), fasten off (F/O)

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate

HEAD (pink yarn)

Rnd 1: 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (16)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (32)

Rnds 5 – 8: sc even (32); F/O and cut the yarn

TAIL (pink yarn)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (8)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (12)

Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (16)

Rnd 5: (3 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (20)

Rnd 6: (4 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnd 7: (5 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (28)

Rnd 8: sc even (28)

Rnd 9: (6 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (32)

Rnd 10: sc even (32)

Do not cut the yarn once you have completed the tail.

BODY (pink and gray yarn)

Merge the head and the tail together:

Rnd 10: join the yarn with a sl st to the 1st stitch of the last rnd of the head, ch 1 and sc in the same st, then crochet 27 sc around, leaving 4 stitches unworked. You should now go back working on the tail part – insert the hook into st # 28 of the last round of the tail, work 1 sc, then work 27 sc, until you reach the end of the round (56)

Rnd 11: (5 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (48)

Use a long strand of pink yarn to close the gap between the head and the tail, by sewing together the two sections of unworked stitches.

Rnd 12: 1 sc dec, 20 sc, 2 sc dec, 20 sc, 1 sc dec (44)

Rnd 13: 1 sc dec, 18 sc, 2 sc dec, 18 sc, 1 sc dec (40)

Rnd 14 – 15: sc even (40); start stuffing the body

Rnd 16: (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (32)

Rnd 17: switch to gray yarn, sc even (32)

Rnd 18: (2 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (24)

Rnd 19: sc even (24)

Rnd 20: (1 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (16); finish stuffing the body.

Rnd 21: sc dec around (8); F/O, cut the yarn and wave in end.

Sew the WING DECOR to the side of the body (on both sides) with gray yarn.

BEAK (yellow yarn)

Rnd 1: 4 sc in a mr (4)

Rnd 2: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (6)

Rnd 3: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (8)

F/O and leave a long strand of yarn to sew the beak onto the head between rnds # 6-9. Stuff the beak lightly.
