Gingerbread Man Free Crochet Pattern

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.

YARN: Light (3) in Beige, White and Red; Classic Cotton Thread in Black

MATERIALS: 2.75 mm Hook; 1.75 mm Hook; Poly Filling; Yarn Needle; Two 6 mm Black Plastic Safety Eyes

DIMENSION: : 5” x 4.5”

ABBREVIATIONS:stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), fasten off (F/O)

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

LEGS & BODY (beige and white yarn; 2.75 mm hook)

Leg #1

Rnd 1: starting off with beige yarn, 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (16)

Rnd 3: (7 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (18)

Rnd 4: sc even (18)

Rnd 5: (1 sc with beige yarn, 1 sc with white yarn), repeat around (18)

Rnd 6: working with white only, sc even (18)

Rnd 7: switch back to beige yarn, sc even (18)

Rnds 8 – 11: sc even (18); F/O and cut the yarn

Stuff the leg.

Leg #2

Rnd 1: starting off with beige yarn, 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (16)

Rnd 3: (7 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (18)

Rnd 4: sc even (18)

Rnd 5: (1 sc with beige yarn, 1 sc with white yarn), repeat around (18)

Rnd 6: working with white only, sc even (18)

Rnd 7: switch back to beige yarn, sc even (18)

Rnds 8 – 11: sc even (18)

Do not cut the yarn once you have crocheted the second leg.

Stuff the leg.

Let’s merge the legs together…

Rnd 12: join the yarn to leg #1 by inserting the hook into any one st of last round, work 1 sc into the same st, then work the remaining 17 sts; keep working on the leg #2 (starting from the 1st st of the last round), 1 sc into the same st, then work the remaining 17 sc (36)

Rnd 13: sc even (36)

Rnd 14: (4 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (30)

Rnds 15 – 21: sc even (30)

Rnd 22: (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (24)

Rnd 23: sc even (24); F/O and cut the yarn.

Finish stuffing the body firmly.

HEAD (beige yarn; 2.75 mm hook)

Rnd 1: 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (16)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (32)

Rnd 5: (3 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (40)

Rnd 6: sc even (40)

Rnd 7: (4 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (48)

Rnd 8: sc even (48)

Rnd 9: (7 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (54)

Rnds 10 – 16: sc even (54)

Insert the plastic safety eyes between rnds # 13-14, 8 stitches apart.

Rnd 17: (7 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (48)

Rnd 18: sc even (48); start stuffing the head

Rnd 19: (4 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (40)

Rnd 20: (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (32)

Rnd 21: (2 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (24); F/O and leave a long strand of yarn.

Sew the head and the body together and finish stuffing them while sewing.

Embroider the EYEBROWS between rnds #10-12.

Embroider the MOUTH between rnds #15-18, 6 sts wide.

ARMS (beige and white yarn; make two; 2.75 mm hook)

Rnd 1: starting off with beige yarn, 7 sc in a mr (7)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (14)

Rnd 3: (6 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (16)

Rnd 4: sc even (16)

Rnd 5: (1 sc with beige yarn, 1 sc with white yarn), repeat around (16)

Rnd 6: working with white only, sc even (16)

Rnd 7: switch back to beige yarn, (6 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice (14)

Rnds 8 – 11: sc even (14); F/O and leave a long strand of yarn

Stuff the arm firmly. Attach the arms between rnds # 17-23 of the body.

ICING (white yarn; 2.75 mm hook)

Rnd 1: 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (16)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (32)

Rnd 5: (3 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (40)

Rnd 6: sc even (40)

Rnd 7: [1 sc, 1 hdc, (1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, 1 ch, 1dc), 1 hdc, 1 sc] rep 8 times (56 sts, 16 ch); F/O and leave a long strand of yarn to secure the icing on top of the head.

BOW TIE (red yarn; 2.75 mm hook)

Work in rows – ch 1 and turn at the end of each row

Row 1: 5 ch, 1 sc into the 2nd ch from the hook, 3 sc (4)

Row 2: sc even (4)

Row 3: 1 sc, 1 sc dec, 1 sc (3)

Row 4: 1 sc, 1 sc dec (2)

Row 5: 1 sc, 1 sc inc (3)

Row 6: 1 sc, 1 sc inc, 1 sc (4)

Row 7: sc even (4); F/O, cut the yarn and wave in end.

Cut a long strand of yarn, wrap it around the center of the bow tie and then use the extra length to secure the bow tie to the body.

BUTTONS (black thread; make two; 1.75 mm hook)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6); F/O and leave a long strand of thread.

Sew the buttons between rnds #15-16 and rnds #18-19.

Color the CHEEKS by applying pink blush with a little brush.
