Free Amigurumi Rabbit Pattern – All Free Amigurumi

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.

You will need

Any Cotton DK (why not try the Rico Essential Cotton Dk),

1 x 50g/125m ball each in

Yarn A – White
Yarn B – Pink
Yarn C – Mustard Yellow
Yarn D – Brown
Yarn E – Orange
Yarn F – Lime Green

3mm (UK 11, US C/2) hook
Yarn needle
Toy stuffing
Invisible thread or sewing thread to match Yarn B
Sewing needle
4 x 6mm safety eyes
Black embroidery thread

Measurements
Big amigurumi bunny: approx. 20cm (8in) tall
Baby amigurumi bunny: approx. 14cm (5½in) tall

Tension
Tension is not critical but keep stitches on the tight side to prevent stuffing showing through

Head
Using Yarn A, make a crochet magic loop.
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st), 6dc into the magic loop. [6dc]
Round 2 2dc in each st around. [12dc]
Round 3 (Dc in next st, 2dc in next st); rep 6 times. [18dc]
Rounds 4-5 Dc in each st around. [18dc]
Round 6 (Dc in next 5 sts, 2dc in next st); rep 3 times. [21dc]
Round 7 (Dc in next 6 sts, 2dc in next st); rep 3 times. [24dc]
Round 8 (Dc in next 7 sts, 2dc in next st); rep 3 times. [27dc]
Round 9 (Dc in next 8 sts, 2dc in next st); rep 3 times. [30dc]
Place a marker in the last st of Round 9.
Rounds 10-14 Dc in each st around. [30dc]
Insert safety eyes either side of marker, approx. 8 sts apart.
Round 15 (Dc in next 3 sts, dc2tog) rep 6 times. [24dc]

Body

Nose
Using Yarn B, ch5.
Round 1 Dc in second ch from hook, ch1, tr in next ch, ch1, dc in next ch, ch1, ss in final ch. [2dc and 1tr]
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Ear (make 2)
Using Yarn A, ch10.
Round 1 Dc in 2nd ch from hook and each of the next 7ch, 3dc in next ch, (working back around in unworked loops of chains), dc in next 8 sts, ch1, ss in first dc to join. [19dc]
Round 2 Ch1, dc in each st around, do not ss join, turn, ss the last and first dc stitches together (this will pinch the bottom of the ear in together).

Fasten off and leave a long tail.

Arm (make 2)
Using Yarn A, make a crochet magic loop..
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st), 6dc into the magic loop. [6dc]
Round 2 (Dc in next st, 2dc in next st); rep 3 times. [9dc]
Rounds 3-6 Dc in each st around. [9dc]
Round 7 (Dc in next st, dc2tog); rep 3 times. [6dc]
Rounds 8-11 Dc in each st around. [6dc] Ss in next 2 sts.

Fasten off and leave a long tail. Stuff bottom half of arm only.

Foot (make 2)
Using Yarn A, ch4.
Round 1 Dc in 2nd ch from hook, dc in next ch, 4dc in next ch, (working back around in unworked loops of chains), dc in next ch, 3dc in same ch as first dc, ss in first dc to join. [10dc]
Round 2 Ch1, dc in same st as join, dc in next 2 sts, 2dc in each of the next 2 sts, dc in next 3sts, 2dc in each of the next 2sts, ss in first dc to join. [14dc]
Round 3 Ch1, dc in same st as join, dc in next 2 sts, 2dc in next st, dc in next 2 sts, 2dc in next st, dc in next 3 sts, 2dc in next st, dc in next 2sts, 2dc in next st, ss in first dc to join. [18dc]
Round 4 BLO Ch1, dc in next st and each st around, DON’T ss in first dc to join. [18dc]
Rounds 5-7 Dc in each st around. [18dc]
Round 8 Dc in next 2 sts, dc2tog 4 times, dc in next 8 sts [14dc]

Fasten off and leave a long tail. Firmly stuff feet but not completely, leaving the last 2 rows unstuffed (this will mean they will be flexible enough to put the rabbit in a sitting position)

Tail

Using Yarn A, make a crochet magic loop..
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st), 6dc into the magic loop. [6dc]
Round 2 (Dc in next st, 2dc in next st); rep 3 times. [9dc]
Rounds 3-4 Dc in each st around. [9dc]
Round 5 (Dc in next st, dc2tog); rep 3 times. [6dc]

Fasten off and stuff. Weave tail in each stitch of last round and pull tight to close hole. Fasten in place but leave a long tail for sewing onto body.

Hat
Using Yarn C, make a crochet magic loop..
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st), 6dc into the magic loop, ss in first dc to join. [6dc]
Round 2 Ch1, 2dc in each st around, ss in first dc to join. [12dc]
Round 3 Ch1, (dc in next st, 2dc in next st); rep 6 times, ss in first dc to join. [18dc]
Rounds 4-6 Ch1, dc in each st around, ss in first dc to join. [18dc]
Round 7 FLO ch1, (dc in next 2 sts, 2dc), ch4, skip 3sts, (dc in next 2 sts, 2dc); rep twice, ch4, skip 3sts, (dc in next 2 sts, 2dc), ss in first dc to join. [16dc and 8ch]
Round 8 Ch1, working in ch spaces where necessary, (dc in next 3 sts, 2dc in next st); rep 6 times, ss in first dc to join. [30dc]

Baby bunny crochet pattern
Head
Using Yarn A, make a crochet magic loop..
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st), 6dc into the magic loop. [6dc]
Round 2 2dc in each st around. [12dc]
Rounds 3-4 Dc in each st around. [12dc]
Round 5 (Dc in next 3 sts, 2dc in next st); rep 3 times. [15dc]
Round 6 (Dc in next 4 sts, 2dc in next st); rep 3 times. [18dc]
Round 7 (Dc in next 5 sts, 2dc in next st); rep 3 times. [21dc]
Place a marker in the last st of round 7.
Rounds 8-10 Dc in each st around. [21dc]
Insert safety eyes either side of marker, approx. 6 sts apart.
Round 11 (Dc in next 5 sts, dc2tog); rep 3 times. [18dc]

Using Yarn B, ch2.
Row 1 2dc in second ch from hook.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Ear (make 2)
Using Yarn A, ch7.
Round 1 Dc in 2nd ch from hook and each of the next 4ch, 3dc in next ch, (working back around in unworked loops of chains), dc in next 5 sts, turn, ss the last and first dc stitches together (this will pinch the bottom of the ear in together). [13dc]

Fasten off and leave a long tail.

Arm (make 2)
Using Yarn A, make a crochet magic loop..
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st), 5dc into the magic loop. [5dc]
Rounds 2-7 Dc in each st around. [5dc] Ss in next 2 sts.

Fasten off and leave a long tail. Do not stuff arms.

Foot (make 2)

Using Yarn A, make a crochet magic loop..
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st), 6dc into the magic loop. [6dc]
Round 2 (Dc in next st, 2dc in next st); rep 3 times. [9dc]
Round 3 BLO Dc in each st around. [9dc]
Round 4 Dc in each st around. [9dc]
Round 5 Dc2tog 3 times, dc in next 3 sts. [6dc]
Round 6 Dc in each st around. [6dc]

Ss in next 2 sts. Fasten off and leave a long tail. Lightly stuff feet.

Tail
Using Yarn A, make a crochet magic loop.,
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st), 5dc into the magic loop. [5dc]
Round 2 Dc in each st around. [5dc]

Fasten off and do not stuff.

Weave tail in each stitch of last round and pull tight to close hole. Fasten in place but leave a long tail for sewing onto body.

Basket Crochet Pattern
Using Yarn D, make a crochet magic loop..
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st), 6dc into the magic loop, ss in first dc to join. [6dc]
Round 2 Ch1, 2dc in each st around, ss in first dc to join. [12dc]
Round 3 Ch1, (dc in next st, 2dc in next st); rep 6 times, ss in first dc to join. [18dc]
Round 4 Ch1, (dc in next 2 sts, 2dc in next st); rep 6 times, ss in first dc to join. [24dc]
Rounds 5-6 BLO Ch1, dc in each st around, ss in first dc to join.
Rounds 7-10 Ch1, dc in each st around, ss in first dc to join. Do not fasten off

Handle section
Ch12, skip 12 sts of round 10, ss in BLO of next st, turn, work 15 sts over 12-ch, ss in BLO of st at base of 12ch.
Round 11 FLO Ch1, ss each st around (working only in stitches of round 10). Fasten off and weave in ends.
For support you may want to put a small cardboard circle at base of basket.

Carrot Crochet Pattern
Using Yarn E, make a crochet magic loop..
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st), 4dc into the magic loop. [4dc]
Round 2 Dc in each st around. [4dc]
Round 3 (Dc in next st, 2dc in next st); rep twice. [6dc]
Round 4 Dc in each st around. [6dc]
Round 5 (Dc in next 2sts, 2dc in next st); rep twice. [8dc]
Round 6 Dc in each st around. [8dc]
Round 7 (Dc in next 3sts, 2dc in next st); rep twice. [10dc]
Rounds 8-9 Dc in each st around. (10dc)
Round 10 Dc2tog five times. [5dc]

Fasten off and leave a long tail. Stuff carrot.

Take a length of Yarn F and wrap around your fingers to make multiple loops. Use another length to tie loops together. Take yarn tail from carrot and thread through Yarn F loops, then insert tied end of loops into the carrot hole. Take the carrot tail and weave through each st of Round 10, then pull tightly to close hole (which will also close around Yarn F loops, securing them in place). Cut Yarn F loops approx. 3cm (1¼in) from top of carrot.

Crochet Rabbit Assembly

Using tail left at end of each ear, sew ears to top of head, roughly in line 2 rows behind eyes. Sew nose onto the head using sewing thread or invisible thread for a neater result.

In black embroidery thread, sew an upside down ‘Y’ below the nose, approx. 1cm (¼in) in height.

Using tail, sew body to head. Position feet on bottom of body facing slightly outwards from each other, and use tails to sew in place. Using the tail of arm, fold the end of each arm so it is flat and sew opening together, then sew arms to side of body. Sew tail to bottom.

With a length of Yarn B, tie a neat bow around the big bunny neck.

To place hat on big bunny, pull each ear through corresponding chain space hole on either side of hat.

Repeat these steps for baby bunny, but only sewing a small line below nose.
