Fernando the Llama Free Crochet Pattern

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.

YARN: Light (3) in Brown, Beige, Yellow, Blue and Pink.

Classic Cotton thread in Black and White

MATERIALS: 2.75 mm Hook; Poly Filling; Yarn Needle; Two 6 mm Black Plastic Safety Eyes

DIMENSION: 8” x 4” (20 x 10 cm)

ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), chain (ch), stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), double crochet (hdc), fasten off (F/O)

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

HEAD (Brown yarn)

Rnd 1: 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (16)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (32)

Rnd 5: (3 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (40)

Rnds 6 – 10: sc even (40)

Rnd 11: (4 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (48)

Rnd 12: sc even (48)

Rnd 13: (5 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (56)

Rnds 14 -16: sc even (56)

Insert safety eyes between rnds #9/10, 10 sts apart.

Rnd 17: (5 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (48)

Rnd 18: (4 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (40); start stuffing the head

Rnd 19: (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (32)

Rnd 20: (2 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (24)

Rnd 21: (2 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (18)

Rnd 22: (4 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (15); F/O, cut the yarn and finish stuffing the head firmly.

MUZZLE (Beige yarn)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: sc inc around (12)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (18)

Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (24)

Rnds 5 – 7: sc even (24); F/O and leave a long strand of yarn.

EARS (Brown yarn)

Rnd 1: 4 sc in a mr (4)

Rnd 2: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (6)

Rnd 3: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (8)

Rnd 4: (3 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (10)

Rnd 5: 4 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (12)

Rnds 6 – 8: sc even (12)

Row 9: flatten the ear and crochet through both layers now, 6 sc (6)

F/O and leave a long strand of yarn.

LEGS & BODY (Brown and Beige yarn)

MAKE TWO:

Rnd 1: starting off with beige yarn, 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (8)

Rnd 3: sc even (8)

Rnd 4: switch to brown yarn and work in FLO, (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (12)

Rnd 5: (1 sc, 1 sc inc) rep around (18)

Rnd 6 – 11: sc even (18); F/O, cut the yarn and stuff the leg.

Do not cut the yarn once you have completed the 2nd leg, CH 2 INSTEAD.

MERGE THE TWO LEGS TOGETHER:

Rnd 12: join the yarn to the 1st st of the last rnd of the leg #1, work 1 sc into the same st, then work 1 sc into any st around. Keep crocheting in the chains between the two legs by working 1 sc into each chain. Move to the 2nd leg and work 18 sc around. Keep crocheting in the chains between the two legs by working 1 sc into each chain (40)

Rnds 13 – 22: sc even (40); keep stuffing as you go

Rnd 23: (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (32)

Rnds 24 – 25: sc even (32)

Rnd 26: (2 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (24)

Rnd 27: sc even (24)

Rnd 28: (2 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (18)

Rnds 29 – 30: sc even (18)

Rnd 31: (4 sc, 1 sc dec) rep around (15)

Rnds 32 – 35: sc even (15); F/O and leave a long strand of yarn.

ARMS (Brown and Beige yarn; make two)

Rnd 1: starting off with beige yarn, 6 sc in a mr (6)

Rnd 2: (2 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (8)

Rnd 3: sc even (8)

Rnd 4: switch to brown yarn and work in FLO, (3 sc, 1 sc inc) rep twice (10)

Rnd 5 – 12: sc even (10)

Rnd 13: (3 sc, 1 sc dec) rep twice (8); do not stuff the arm

Row 14: flatten the last rounds of the arm and work through both layers, 4 sc (4); F/O and leave a long strand of yarn.

TAIL (Brown yarn)

Row 1: work 6 ch, 1 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 2 hdc, 2 sc (5); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn

PONCHO (Yellow, Beige and Blue yarn)

Rnd 1: starting off with yellow yarn, crochet 24 ch, join the last ch to the 1st one with a sl st and ch2 (24)

Rnd 2: (3 dc, 1 ch and skip 1 st) rep around (18 dc, 6 ch); join with sl st, do not ch

Rnd 3: 1 sl st in the next 2 stitches, 1 sl st in the space of the ch, switch to beige yarn, in the same space work 2 ch, 3 dc, 1 ch, 3dc, 1 ch , [(skip 3 st, 3 dc in the ch, 1 ch) rep twice], 3 dc, 1 ch, 3 dc in the next chain, 1 ch, [(skip 3 st, 3 dc in the ch, 1 ch) rep twice] (27 dc, 8 ch); join with sl st, do not ch

ASSEMBLING INSTRUCTIONS:

· Sew the muzzle onto the head between rnds 8-17. Stuff the muzzle firmly as you attach it to the llama’s head.

· Embroider the nose onto the muzzle with black cotton thread.

· Embroider the eyebrows above the eye between rnds # 6-8 with black cotton thread.

· Sew the ear on top of the head between rnds # 2-4.

· Sew the arms between rnds 27-28

· Put the poncho in place

· Attach the body to the head.

· Sew the tail to the back of the body between rnds #18-19

· Embroider the cheek lines below the eyes (between rnds #11-12) with pink yarn.

· Embroider the lines of the eyes with black and white cotton thread.
