Christmas Monkey Free Pattern

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.

Length: 6” (15 cm)
Skill level: Beginner
Crochet hook: B/C-1/2 (2.5 mm)
Materials: Embroidery needle and black yarn, 2 safety eyes (8 mm), filling.
Yarn: Rainbow Cotton 8/4
How much yarn do you need?
1 x White (001)
1 x Almond (089)
1 x Dark Powder Rose (064)
1 x Pastel Pink (042)
A scrap of green for the christmas tree.

MR = magic ring
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
blo = back loop only
[…] = no. of stitches
(…) = no. of rounds
… = repeat
decrease (dec) = work 2 together
increase (inc) = work 2 sc in same stitch

Head
In Pastel Pink (042)
R1: 6 sc in a mr [6]
R2: inc 6x [12]
R3: 1 sc, inc 6x [18]
R4: 2 sc, inc 6x [24]
R5: 3 sc, inc 6x [30]
R6: 4 sc, inc 6x [36]
R7: 5 sc, inc 6x [42]
R8: 6 sc, inc 6x [48]
R9: 7 sc, inc 6x [54]
R10-R17: 1 sc in each st (8 rounds) [54]
R18: 7 sc, dec 6x [48]
R19: 6 sc, dec 6x [42]
Insert the safety eye between rows 12/13 with 8 sts between the eyes. Fill the head with
filling and ongoing while you finish the head.
R20: 5 sc, dec 6x [36]
R21: 4 sc, dec 6x [30]
R22: 3 sc, dec 6x [24]
R23: 2 sc, dec 6x [18]
Fill the head nice and tightly.
R24: 1 sc, dec 6x [12]
R25: dec 6x [6]
Cut the yarn and pull the thread through the front loops of R25, tighten carefully and weave in the ends.

The snout
In Almond (089)
Make 8 ch and begin in 2nd ch from the hook:
R1: 6 sc, 3 sc in last st, now you continue on the other side of the sts: 5 sc, 2 sc in the last [16]
R2: inc 2x, 4 sc, inc 3x, 5 sc, inc, 1 sc [22]
R3: 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 4 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 7 sc, inc, 1 sc [28]
R4: 1 sc in all sts [28]
R5: 1 sc in all sts [28]
Cut the yarn. Leave a long thread for sewing.
Place the snout right below the eyes, at the top of R13 and at the bottom of R20. See the
picture.
Embroider the mouth and nostrils in black.

Hood

Cut the yarn and leave a long thread for sewing the hood to the head.

Ear
Make 2 in Dark Powder Rose:

R5-9: 1 sc in all sts (5 rounds) [24]
Cut the yarn and leave a long thread for sewing the ears to the head. Don’t fill the ears but fold them flat. See the picture.

Body
In Dark Powder Rose (064) and white (001).
Start in Dark Powder Rose:
R1: 6 sc in a mr [6]
R2: inc 6x [12]
R3: 1 sc, inc 6x [18]
R4: 2 sc, inc 6x [24]
R5: 3 sc, inc 6x [30]
R6: 4 sc, inc 6x [36]
R7: 5 sc, inc 6x [42]
R8-12: 1 sc in all sts (5 rounds) [42]
Switch to white
R13-14: 1 sc in all sts (2 rounds) [42]
R15: 5 v, dec 6x [36]
R16: 1 sc in all sts [36]
R17: 4 sc, dec 6x [30]
R18: 1 sc in all sts [30]
R19: 3 sc, dec 6x [24]
R20: 1 sc in all sts [24]
R21: 2 sc, dec 6x [18]
R22-23: 1 sc in all sts (2 rounds) [18]
Fill the body nice and tightly, weave in ends.
Embroider a christmas tree on the front of the sweater and sew the head on the body.

Collar
In white
Make 22 ch, start in 2nd ch from the hook and work 21 sc. Cut the yarn and leave a long thread for sewing on the collar exactly between the sweater and the head. See the picture.

Arms
Make 2 in Dark Powder Rose (064) and White (001).
Start with Dark Powder Rose:
R1: 6 sc in a mr [6]
R2: inc 6x [12]
R3-5: 1 sc in all sts (3 rounds) [12]
R6: work 1 bubble stitch*, 11 sc [12]
R7-11: 1 sc in all sts (5 rounds) [12]
Fill the hand with filling and ongoing while you work the arm.
*Bubble stitch = this is the thumb and is worked like this: yo, put through next st and pick up thread, yo and crochet through 2 loops.* Don’t finish the dc, but start the next dc by repeating the steps between
* *. Make 5 of these unfinished dc. At the end you will have 6 loops on the hook. Yo again and crochet through all 6 loops.

Switch to white:
R12-21: 1 sc in all sts (10 rounds) [12]
R22: *dec* 6x [6]
Fold the arm flat and work through both loops with 3 sc. Sew the arm to the body in R22.

Legs
Make 2 in Dark Powder Rose (064):
Make 8 ch and begin in the 2nd ch from the hook:
R1: 6 sc, 3 sc in the last. Now continue on the other side of the sts: 5 sc, 2 sc in the last [16]
R2: inc 2x, 4 sc, inc 3x, 5 sc, inc, 1 sc [22]

Fill the leg with filling and attatch to the body between R1 and R5. See the picture.

Tail
In Dark Powder Rose:

Attatch the tail to the body in R7.
