Amigurumi Train Crochet Pattern

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.

Supplies:
4mm crochet hook, 4/Medium weight yarn in black, grey, and any desired Main Color and Contrast Color. 8mm safety eyes, black embroidery thread, tapestry needle, scissors, and stuffing.

Additional Information:
Difficulty: Easy
This pattern uses “Main Color” as the main color you want your train to be. I used green for my main color. You will also need a little amount of a “Contrast Color”. I used a neon green for that. We start by making the train, then the back piece of the train, then the chimneys, wheels, and tire cover. Done!

Train:

In grey

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: Inc in the next st, Sc in the next st. Sc in the next st and add a different colored stitch marker to the Sc just made. This marks where to place the eye. Sc in the same st. Sc in the next st. Inc in the next st, Sc in the next st, Inc in the next st. Sc in the next st and add a different colored st marker to the Sc just made. Repeat *Inc in the next st, Sc in the next st* 2 times (18)

Round 3’s eye markers will soon look like the picture below


Round 4: *Inc, Sc 2* all around (24)
Round 5: *Inc, Sc 3* all around (30)
Round 6: *Inc, Sc 4* all around (36)
Round 7: *Inc, Sc 5* all around (42)
Switch to Black now. Add safety eyes now.


Round 8: In BLO (Back Loop Only), *Sc* all around (42)
Round 9-10: In BOTH Loops, *Sc* all around (42)
Switch to Main Color
Round 11-28: *Sc* all around (42)
Round 29: In BLO, *Dec, Sc 5* all around (36)
Round 30: In BOTH Loops, *Dec, Sc 4* all around (30)
Stuff now. Add additional stuffing through the next rounds.


Round 31: *Dec, Sc 3* all around (24)
Round 32: *Dec, Sc 2* all around (18)
Round 33: *Dec, Sc* all around (12)
Round 34: *Dec* all around (6)
Finish off. Sew closed.

Back Piece:

In Black

This piece is worked completely around the chain to form a round.

Round 1: Ch 15. *Inc* in 2nd Ch from hook, Sc next 12 st, *Inc* in the next st, Sc next 12 st (28)
Round 2: *Sc* all around (28)
Round 3: *Inc* in the next 12 st, Sc next 12 st, *Inc* in next 2 st, Sc last 12 st (32)
Round 4: *Sc* all around (32)
Switch to Main Color
Round 5-16: *Sc* all around (32)
Round 17: *Dec, Sc 2* 8 times (24)
Stuff here

Round 18: *Dec, Sc* 8 times (16)
Finish off. Sew closed and pin on the train as shown.

First Chimney:

In Black

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc, Sc* all around (9)
Round 3-8: *Sc* all around (9)
Finish off and stuff. Pin on as shown and sew on.

Second Chimney:

In Main Color

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Round 2: *Inc, Sc* all around (9)
Round 3-4: *Sc* all around (9)
Finish off and stuff. Pin on as shown and sew on.

Wheels: (Make )

In Black

Round 1: 6 Sc in Magic Ring (6)
Switch to Main Color
Round 2: *Inc* all around (12)
Round 3: *Inc, Sc* all around (18)
Switch to Black
Round 4: In BLO, *Sc* all around (18)
Round 5-17: *Sc* all around (18)
Switch to Main Color and stuff here
Round 18: In BLO and using the invisible decrease method this round, *Dec, Sc* all around (12)
Round 19: In BOTH Loops and using the invisible decrease method this round, *Dec* all around (6)
Switch to Black
Round 20: *Sc* all around (6)
Finish off. Line all 3 tires up next to each other and sew them together. I only sewed them together at the top until they were secure.

Tire Cover:

In Black

Row 1: Ch 16. Turn, Sc next 15 st. (16)
Row 2-28: Turn, Sc in the next 15 st (16)
Finish off. Continue on next step.

Attach Contrast Color yarn to the tire cover. Single crochet around the entire tire cover. Finish off and weave in the ends.

Nose:

In Grey

Go between two stitches, back and forth a few times to form the nose. Finish off and weave in ends.

In White

Insert needle with thread next to the right eye, and pull needle out of the top middle area of the right eye. Reinsert needle into the bottom middle area of the right eye, and pull needle out of the top middle area of the left eye. Reinsert needle into the bottom middle area of the left eye, and pull out of the original insertion spot.

Smile:

In Black Embroidery Thread

Insert needle with thread a little right to the right eye, and pull out two stitches over. Reinsert needle into the opposite side of the mouth, and pull put where shown. Reinsert needle into area we just pulled the needle out of, making sure the smile is between the thread. Pull needle out of original insertion spot. Finish off and weave in ends.
