Amigurumi Toy Dragon Crochet Pattern

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.

You will need:

  • a set of Paradise Yarn Knit;
  • hook 4.5 mm;
  • stuffing;
  • safety eyes 12 mm.

Safety first!If you are knitting Dexter for an infant or young child, then use the eyes on a secure fastener, or embroider the eyes with black yarn instead.

Helpful Hint: 3 single crochets knitted together.3 single crochets knitted together (3 sc together) – another name, cluster – can be used for decoration and shaping. It is knitted as follows: (introduce the hook into the next loop, yarn over and knit) x 3 times. 4 loops on the hook. Yarn over and knit through all loops on the hook.

Nose
Crochet 4.5 mm and peach-colored blue yarn to tie an amigurumi ring, 6 sc in the ring.
6 sts
KR 1: 2 sc in each st to end. 12 sts
KR 2: (2 sc in next st, 1 sc) repeat to end. 18 sts
KR 3: (2 sc in next st, 2 sc) repeat to end. 24 sts
KR 4: (2 sc in next st, 3 sc) repeat to end. 30 sts
KR 5-10: 1 sc in each st to end.
Close the last loop, leaving a long tail.

Tummy
Crochet 4.5 mm and white color yarn to tie an amigurumi ring, 6 sc in the ring.
6 sts
KR 1-4: Repeat KR 1-4 of nose pattern. 30 sts
KR 5: (2 sc in next st, 4 sc) repeat to end. 36 sts
KR 6: (2 sc in next st, 5 sc) repeat to end. 42 sts
KR 7: (2 sc in the next st, 6 sc) repeat to the end. 48 sts
KR 8: (2 sc in next st, 7 sc) repeat to end. 54 sts
KR 9: (2 sc in the next st, 8 sc) repeat to the end. 60 loops
Cast off the last loop, leaving a long tail.

Head, body and tail
Crochet 4.5 mm and pink yarn to tie an amigurumi ring, 6 sc in the ring. 6 sts
KR 1-5: Repeat KR 1-5 of tummy chart. 36 sts
KR 6-10: 1 sc in each st to end.
Change to green yarn
CR 11-16: 1 sc in each st to end.
KR 17: 3 sc, ch 15, skip 15 sts, 1 sc in each st to end. 21 loops.
CR 18-20: 1 sc in each st to end. 36 sts
Change to pink
KR 21: 1 sc in each st to end.
CR 22: 2 sc next. p., 19 sc, 2 sc in the next. p., 1 sc in each p. to the end. 38 sts
KR 3 and remaining odd KRs: 1 sc in each st to end.
CR 24:2 RLS in the next. p., 21 sc, 2 sc in the next. p., 1 sc in each p. to the end. 40 loops
KR 26: 2 sc in the next. p., 23 sc, 2 sc in the next. p., 1 sc in each p. to the end. 42 loops
KR 28: 2 sc in the next. p., 25 sc, 2 sc in the next. p., 1 sc in each p. to the end. 44 sts
KR 29: 1 sc in each st to the end.
Change to light green yarn
KR 30: 2 sc in the next. p., 27 sc, 2 sc in the next. p., 1 sc in each p. to the end. 46 loops

Switch to peach yarn.
KP 39: 8 sc, mark a line for the tummy and work 30 sc along the bottom edge, skip 30 body sts, close the row and knit 1 sc in each st to the end.
CR 40: 7 sc, 3 sc together (see Helpful Hint), 27 sc, 3 sc together, 1 sc in each st to end. 56 loops.
KR 41: 6 sc, 3 sc tog, 26 sc, 3 sc tog, 1 sc in each st to end. 52 loops.
KR 42: 5 sc, 3 sc tog, 24 sc, 3 sc tog, 1 sc in each st to end. 48 loops.
KR 43: 4 sc, 3 sc tog, 22 sc, 3 sc tog, 1 sc in each st to end. 44 loops.
KR 44: 3 sc, 3 sc tog, 20 sc, 3 sc tog, 1 sc in each st to end. 40 loops.
CR 45:2 sc, 3 sc together, 18 sc, 3 sc together, 1 sc in each st to end. 36 loops.
KR 46: 1 sc, 3 sc tog, 14 sc, 3 sc tog, 1 sc in each st to end. 32 loops.
KR 47: 3 sc tog, 12 sc, 3 sc tog, 1 sc in each st to end. 28 loops.
Change to pink yarn
KR 48 and the remaining even KRs: 1 sc in each st to the end.
KP 49: (2 sc tog, 12 sc) repeat to end of 26 sts.
KP 51: (2 sc tog, 11 sc) repeat to end of 24 sts
KR 53: (2 sc tog, 10 sc) repeat to end of 22 sts
KR 55: (2 sc tog, 9 sc) repeat to end of 20 sts.
KP 56: Repeat KP 21. Change to green yarn.
CR 57 and other odd CRs: 1 sc in each st to end.
KP 58: (2 sc tog, 8 sc) repeat to end of 18 sts.
KP 60: (2 sc tog, 7 sc) repeat to end of 16 sts.
KP 62: (2 sc tog, 6 sc) repeat to end of 14 sts.
KP 64: (2 sc tog, 5 sc) repeat to end of 12 sts.
KP 65: 1 sc in each st to end. Change to cherry yarn
KR 66 and the remaining even KRs: 1 sc in each st to the end.
KP 67: (2 sc tog, 4 sc) repeat to end of 10 sts
KR 69: (2 sc tog, 3 sc) repeat to end of 8 sts
KR 71: (2 sc tog, 2 sc) repeat to end of 6 sts
KR 73 :
(2 sc tog, 1 sc) rep 4 sts of KR 74 to end : 1 sc in each st to end.
Close the last loop.

Eyelet (2 pcs.)
With a 4.5 mm crochet hook and light green yarn, tie an amigurumi ring, 6 sc in the ring. 6 sts
KR 1:  (2 sc in next st, 2 sc) repeat to end. 8 sts
KR 2:  (2 sc in next st, 3 sc) repeat to end. 10 sts
KR 3:  (2 sc in next st, 4 sc) repeat to end. 12 loops.
CR 4-6:  1 sc in each st to end. Close the last p.

Horns (2 pcs.)
Crochet 4.5 mm and white color yarn to tie an amigurumi ring, 6 sc in the ring. 6 sts
KR 1-3:  1 sc in each st to end. Close the last p.

Leg (2 pcs.)
With a 4.5 mm crochet hook and cherry (pink) yarn, tie an amigurumi ring, 6 sc in the ring. 6 sts
KR 1-4:  Repeat KR 1-4 of nose pattern. 30 loops.
CR 5-7:  1 sc in each st to end.
KR 8-9:  (2 sc together) x 6 times, 1 sc in each st to end. 18 loops.
KR 10:  (2 sc together) x 3 times, 1 sc in each st to end. 15 loops.
Change to green (light green) yarn
KR 11-15:  1 sc in each st to end.
For the right leg:
KR 16:  8 sc. 8 loops
Bind off the last loop.
For the left leg:
KR 16:  1 conn. Art. in a trace. 7 loops, 8 sc. 8 sts, cast off the last st.

Hand (2 pcs.)
With a 4.5 mm crochet and light green (green) yarn, tie an amigurumi ring, 6 sc in the ring. 6 sts
KR 1-2:  Repeat KR 1-2 ears. 10 sts
KR 3-5:  1 sc in each st to end. Change to white (peach) yarn
CR 6-13:  1 sc in each st to end. Close the last p.

Wing (2 pcs.)
With a 4.5 mm crochet hook and cherry-colored yarn, tie an amigurumi ring, 3 RLS in a ring, unfold. 3 sts
Row 1:  ch 1, 2 sc in each st to end, turn 6 sts
Row 2:  ch 1, (sc 2 in next st, 1 sc) rep to end, turn 9 sts
Row 3:  ch 1 , (2 RLS in the next loop, 2 RLS) repeat to the end, expand 12 loops.
Row 4:  Ch 1, (sc 2 in next st, sc 3) repeat to end, turn 15 sts.
Row 5: Ch  1, 5 sc, ([1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc] in the next st, 3 dc) x 2 times, 1 dc, (1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc) in the next. p. 21 loop. Turn sideways.
Row 6:  12 sc along the even edge. 12 loops.
Close the last loop.

Spikes
Hook 4.5 mm. Attach green yarn to the top of the head and work towards the tail, leaving approximately 2 kp between the spikes.

Row 1:  (3 CH, 3 ch, 1 connection) in the next. loop, repeat to the end.

Please note: There are 22 spikes on the sample. Close the last loop.

Product assembly
Hide the ends of the threads. Sew up the tip of the nose, head, body and tail. Turn the body wrong side out and sew the nose into the hole in the head. Turn out to the front. Insert eyes over the nose. Stuff tightly. Sew the tummy to the body with white yarn. Stuff the arms and legs. Sew to the body. Sew wings to the body. Sew ears and horns to the top of the head. Embroider a smile on the nose with cherry yarn. The amigurumi dragon is ready!
