ABBREVIATIONS

R5: (3 sc, 1 inc)x6 (30 sts)
R6: (4 sc, 1 inc)x6 (36 sts)
R7: (5 sc, 1 inc)x6 (42 sts)
R8-13: sc even (42 sts)
R14: (5 sc, 1 dec)x6 (36 sts)

R17: (2 sc, 1 dec)x6 (18 sts)
R18: (1 sc, 1 dec)x6 (12 sts)
R19: (1 dec)x6 (6 sts).
Finish stuffing and close. Weave in ends.

LEFT EAR
With green yarn,
R1: Chain 10 stitches
R2: Starting from second chain from hook, crochet 5 sc, 4 hdc, turn, 4 hdc, 5 sc (18 sts)
R3: Chain 3 stitches and, from second chain from hook, crochet a slip stitch in each of the chains. Finish the round by crocheting 1 slip stitch in every sc of round 2 (20 sts). Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew to the head.

RIGHT EAR
With green yarn,
R1: Chain 11 stitches
R2: Starting from second chain from hook, crochet 1 sst, 5 sc, 4 hdc, turn, 4 hdc, 5 sc, 1 sst (20 sts)
R3: Chain 3 stitches and, from second chain from hook, crochet a slip stitch in each of the chains. Skip the first sst of round 2 and crochet 1 slip stitch on every sc. Skip the last sst of round 2 and finish the round by crocheting 1 sst on the back loop of the chains of the beginning. Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew to the head.

Don’t stress too much about the shape of the tips! Yoda ears are recognizable anyway.

Sew the ears to the head aligned with the eyes, more or less in the middle of the head.

ROBE
With brown yarn,
R1: 8 sc in magic ring (8 sts)
R2: (1 inc)x8 (16 sts)
R3: (1 sc, 1 inc)x8 (24 sts)
R4: (2 sc, 1 inc)x8 (32 sts)
R5: (in back loop) sc even (32 sts)
R6-9: sc even (32 sts)
R10: (2 sc, 1 dec)x8 (24 sts)
R11-13: sc even (24 sts)
R14: (1 sc, 1 dec)x8 (16 sts)
R15: sc even (16 sts)
Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail. Stuff and sew to head.

ARM (make 2)
With green yarn,
R1: Leaving a long tail at the beginning, chain 6 stitches and join to make a ring
R2-6: sc even (6 sts)
R7: *sst in next stitch, chain 3 and, from second chain from hook, crochet a slip stitch in each of the chains*. Repeat * in the next 2 stitches. Finish with a slip slip stitch in the next stitch. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Don’t stuff.

Use the yarn tail to sew the hand close.

Sew the arms between rounds 14 and 15 of the body.

FOOT (make 2)
With green yarn,
R1: 8 sc in magic ring (8 sts)
R2: (in front loop) *slip stitch in next stitch, chain 3 and, from second chain from hook, crochet a slip stitch in each of the chains*. Repeat * in the next 2 stitches. Crochet a slip stitch in the next stitch and place a stitch marker in the stitch after that one.
R3: (in back loop) 1 sc in each of the 4 unworked sc and 4 sc on the back loops of the stitches with the toes. Join with a sst to the stitch with the stitch marker. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail, and sew to the bottom of the body. Don’t stuff.

Little Yoda is almost ready! Now we are going to make the coat. First we are going to crochet the sleeves and then we will join them to the body of the coat.

SLEEVE (make 2)
With beige yarn,
R1: Chain 12 stitches and join to make a ring
R2-4: sc even (12 sts)
R5: (3 sc, 1 inc)x3 (15 sts)
R6: sc even (15 sts). Fasten off and weave in ends.

COAT
With beige yarn,
R1: Chain 26 stitches. We are working in flat
R2: sc even (25 sts). Turn
R3: 3 sc, join the first sleeve by crocheting 6 sc through both the stitches of the coat and the initial chain of the first sleeve (see picture), 7 sc, join the second sleeve by crocheting 6 sc through both the stitches of the coat and the initial chain of the second sleeve, 3 sc (25 sts). Turn
R4: 1 inc, 2 sc, skip the next 6 stitches of the coat and crochet the remaining 6 stitches of the second sleeve instead, 2 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc, 1 inc, 2 sc, skip the next 6 stitches of the coat and crochet the remaining 6 stitches of the first sleeve instead, 2 sc, 1 inc (29 sts). Turn
R5-9: sc even (29 sts). Turn
R10: 1 inc, 13 sc, 1 inc, 13 sc, 1 inc (32 sts). Turn
R11-12: sc even (32 sts). Fasten off and weave in ends.

HOOD
With beige yarn,
R1: Chain 26 stitches, leaving a long tail at the beginning. We are working in flat
R2-11: sc even (25 sts). Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Fold the hood in half along the largest side and sew one of the folded sides.

Open it.

Place the hood on the neck of the coat and sew it. The previous sewed part goes inside.

One little detail left and we are almost done!

For this Yoda’s hair I’ve used felting wool, but sometimes I’ve just glued some stuffing to the head. Cotton balls probably work well, too.

Your Amigurumi Yoda is now finished!
