Amigurumi Dalmatian Dog Free Crochet pattern

Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.

You will need:

  • Gazzal Jeans yarn (58% cotton, 42% acrylic, 50 g/170 m)
  • 2.25 mm crochet hook
  • 7 mm safety eyes
  • Black and white embroidery floss
  • Sewing needle, scissors
  • Stitch marker
  • Fiberfill

Abbreviations:
R – row
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (2 sc together)
BLO – back loop only
[…] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the row
(…) – repeat whatever is between the brackets the given number of times

Ears (make 2)
For a dalmatian dog with black yarn:
R 1: 7 sc in magic ring [7]
R 2: (inc) repeat 7 times [14]
R 3-4: 14 sc (2 rows)
R 5: 6 sc, dec, 6 sc [13]
R 6: 13 sc
R 7: dec, 11 sc [12]
R 8: 12 sc
R 9: 5 sc, dec, 5 sc [11]
R 10: dec, 9 sc [10]
R 11: 4 sc, dec, 4 sc [9]
Fold the top opening flat and 4-5 sc through both sides.
1 ch, fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Arms (make 2)
R 1: 7 sc in magic ring [7]
R 2-7: 7 sc (6 rows)
Change to sweater (for a male dog) or dress (for a female dog dog) color:
R 8-9: 7 sc (2 rows)
R 10: 6 sc only (the color changing of the yarn should be in the middle the inner part of the arm)
Stuff 1/2 full.
Fold the top opening flat and 3-4 sc through both sides.
1 ch, fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Muzzle
With white yarn:
R 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
R 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
R 3: (3 sc, inc) repeat 3 times [15]
Sl st, fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Legs, body and head
Stuff as you go.

Legs (make 2)
R 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
R 2: (1 sc, inc) repeat 3 times [9]
R 3: dec, 3 sc, inc, 3 sc [9]
R 4: 3 sc, inc, 3 sc, dec [9]
R 5: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) repeat 2 times, 1 sc [12]
Sl st, fasten off.

Crochet the second leg, do not fasten off.

Make 2 ch on the second leg and join with the first leg (after sl st on the first leg).
R 6: 12 sc on the first leg, 2 sc in 2 ch, 12 sc on the second leg, 2 sc in 2 ch (opposite side) [28]
R 7: Crochet additional 6 sc to move the beginning of this row, mark with a stitch marker, inc, (6 sc, inc) repeat 3 times, 6 sc [32]
R 8: attach the tail (in the center): 24 sc; 4 ch and from the 2nd ch from hook: 3 sl st; 8 sc [32]

For a female dog:
R 9: 32 sc + some additional sc to get a stitch marker on the side of the body
Change to dress color:
R 10: 32 sc
R 11: BLO (6 sc, dec) repeat 4 times [28]

For a male dog:
R 9: 32 sc + some additional sc to get a stitch marker on the side of the body
R 10: 32 sc
Change to sweater color:
R 11: (6 sc, dec) repeat 4 times [28]

For a female and male dog:
R 12: 28 sc
R 13: (5 sc, dec) repeat 4 times [24]
R 14-15: 24 sc (2 rows)
R 16: (2 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [18]
R 17-18: 18 sc (2 rows)
R 19: (1 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [12] + some additional sc to get a stitch marker on the side of the body
Change to main color:
R 20: 12 sc
R 21: (inc) repeat 12 times [24]
R 22: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) repeat 7 times, 1 sc [32]
R 23: (3 sc, inc) repeat 8 times [40]
R 24-31: 40 sc (8 rows)
Insert safety eyes between R 27 and R 28 at the distance of 6 sc from each other.
If you like to have a big head, than you would crochet one row more (40 sc) [40]
R 32: 4 sc, dec, (8 sc, dec) repeat 3 times, 4 sc [36]
R 33: 2 sc, dec, (4 sc, dec) repeat 5 times, 2 sc [30]
R 34: (3 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
R 35: 1 sc, dec, (2 sc, dec) repeat 5 times, 1 sc [18]
R 36: (1 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
R 37: (dec) repeat 6 times [6]
Sl st, fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly
Sew arms to the body between R 18 and R 19.
Embroider eye whites (for a beige dog) with white floss.
Embroider eyelids and eyebrows with black floss.
Sew the muzzle to the head (sl st of the muzzle is on left down side).
Embroider a nose and a mouth with black floss.
Sew ears on the head.
For a dalmatian dog embroider spots with black yarn.

Skirt
Turn the dog head down and attach the yarn to the remaining front loops of the R 10.
R 10: BLO 2 dc in every stitch to the end of row
Fasten off.

Bow
Leave 15 cm long tail.
Crochet in magic ring: (3 ch, 2 dc, 3 ch, sl st) repeat 2 times
Pull yarn tail to close magic ring. Wrap the yarn around the middle several times.
Sew the bow on the head, near the ear.
