Snowbird Free Crochet Pattern
Hello amigurumi lovers and beautiful visitors, I wanted to share the free amigurumi patterns for you here. In my article I will share 1 pattern and how to make it for you. At the end of my article, I will share amigurumi patterns that can generate ideas for you.

YARN: Light (3) in White, Gray and Pink; Classic Cotton Thread in Black
MATERIALS: C2 – 2.75 mm Hook; Poly Filling; Two 6 mm Black Plastic Safety Eyes
DIMENSION: H. 6.5” x W. 3” x L. 3.5”
ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc),
front loop only (FLO), fasten off (F/O), rounds (rnds)
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner
INSTRUCTIONS: work in rounds (join with a sl st and ch 1 at the end of each round) unless otherwise instructed.
BODY (white yarn)
1) 6 sc in a mr (6)
2) sc inc around (12)
3) *1 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (18)
4) *2 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (24)
5) *3 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (30)
6) sc even (30)
7) *4 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (36)
8-12) sc even (36)
Insert the safety eyes between rnds # 7-8, 6 sts apart
13) *4 sc, 1 sc dec*, repeat ** around (30)

15) working in FLO, *2 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (32)
16) working in both loops now, sc even (32); start stuffing the body firmly

Embroider the EYEBROWS (between rnds #4-6) and the EYELASHES
(between rnds #7-9) with black cotton thread.
BEAK (gray yarn)
1) 4 sc in a magic ring (4)
2) *1 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (6)
3) sc even (6); F/O and leave a long tail for sewing the beak to the head between rnds #6-9.
WINGS (gray yarn; make two)
1) 6 sc in a mr (6)
2) *2 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (8)
3) *3 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (10)
4) *4 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (12)
5) *5 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (14)

10) flatten the wing and crochet through both layers now, 4 sc (4); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn to attach the wing to the side of the body between rnds #16-21.
LEGS AND FEET (gray cotton yarn, make two)
1) work 15 ch (15); F/O and leave a long tail of yarn.
2) work 3 ch, then insert the hook into the 13th chain of the previous made series of chains, work a sl st, then work 3 ch (6); F/O and cut the yarn. Trim the yarn ends, except the one to sew the legs to the body with.
Attach the legs to the bottom of the body between rounds #28-29, 7 sts apart.
TAIL (white yarn)
1) 6 sc in a mr (6)
2) *2 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (8)
3) *3 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (10)
4) *4 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** twice (12)
5) *2 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (16); F/O and leave a long string of yarn to attach the tail to the back of the body between rnds #22-27.
Stuff the tail as you attach it to the body.
HAT (pink and gray yarn)
1) starting off with pink yarn, 6 sc in a mr (6)
2) sc inc around (12)
3) *1 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (18)
4) sc even (18)
5) *2 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (24)
6) *3 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (30)
7) sc even (30)
8) *4 sc, 1 sc inc*, repeat ** around (36)
Let’s make the 1st earflap
9) 5 sc (5); ch 1 and turn (work in rows)
10) 1 sc dec, 1 sc, 1 sc dec (3); ch 1 and turn
11) 1 sc, 1 sc dec (2); ch 1 and turn
12) 1 sc dec (1); F/O, cut the yarn and wave in end
Let’s make the 2nd earflap
1) count 14 sts from the 5th st of rnd #9, join the yarn in the next one st, work 5 sc (5); ch 1 and turn
2) 1 sc dec, 1 sc, 1 sc dec (3); ch 1 and turn
3) 1 sc, 1 sc dec (2); ch 1 and turn
4) 1 sc dec (1); F/O, cut the yarn and wave in end
5) join gray yarn in any one stitch of the last round of the hat and sc around; F/O, cut the yarn and wave in end.
POMPON (gray yarn)
Wrap gray yarn around your index and middle fingers. Wrap until you get the desired amount of yarn. Gently pull the yarn off of your fingers, wrap another piece around the center of the yarn ball.
Tie it tight to secure. Trim to form. Use the yarn ends to attach the pompon to the top of the hat.
EARFLAPS TAILS (gray yarn; make two)
1) join gray yarn to the last st of the earflap, work 5 chs (5); F/O and trim the end.
